
NADIA OKRUSKO
PIANIST
Nadia Okrusko is a Copenhagen-based pianist with versatile musical and artistic interests and practises. She is active on local music scene as a performer, concert organizer, collaborative pianist, and co-creator of various artistic projects.
Her music education took shape in Lithuania, Russia, and Denmark, combining classical training with a growing interest in contemporary and cross-disciplinary work.
Nadia's piano studies began at the ÄŒiurlionis National School of Arts in Vilnius in 1997. As a student, she has performed solo with Kaunas Chamber Orchestra in 2005. In 2008, she was awarded the 1st Prize at the Rosalyn Tureck J.S. Bach Piano Competition in New York. Parralel to this, she has also studied the harp at J. Dvarionas music school, and painting and drawing techniques at J. Vienozinskis visual art school in Vilnius.
In 2009 Nadia was admitted to piano masters studies at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg. During these study years, she has toured with solo and chamber music concerts in Mexico and Germany. In 2015, she has moved to Copenhagen for her second masters degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Music with prof. Niklas Sivelöv, graduating in 2018.
In Denmark, Nadia received several study scholarships, performed as soloist with the Percurama Percussion and Wind Orchestra at Radiohuset Hall in Copenhagen, and won a prize at RDAM piano scholarship competition.
Since 2016, Nadia has been a member of Damkapellet, a Copenhagen-based international musician collective dedicated to new and experimental music and music by female composers. Damkapellet received the Carl Nielsen Talent Prize in 2020 and released their debut record Demiurge with Da Capo records in 2022.
Nadia has performed in Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia, as well as locally at various Danish festivals - such as Copenhagen Opera Festival, Klang, Spor, Vinterjazz, Sommerklassisk Tivoli, Jødisk kulturfestival, among others.
Lately Nadia is also interested in exploring visual art world. Her installation was exhibited at Vækst Festival in Musikhuset København, 2024, and her artworks were exhibited at Tilgang Udstillingsrum in Aalborg in 2025. Currently, Nadia is working on solo concert projects and developing performances that connect music performance and visual art.
