Traditional music history is filled with the names of male composers such as Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, while female composers are rarely heard of. The piano quartet from Damkapellet collective seeks to change this with the concert for schools - Glemte Stemmer (eng. Forgotten Voices), which highlights a number of female composers, from the 12th-century Hildegard von Bingen to the contemporary Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho.

Combining music, facts, and vivid storytelling, the four musicians give students an inspiring insight into women’s role in the classical music tradition, both in the past and today - and into what the future may hold. The performance has been touring every year since 2018 in Denmark, as well as a cultural exchange trip organized by Swedish Embassy to St. Petersburg and Petrozavodsk in 2019.
